DIY: iPhone Shutter Remote (wired)

Everyone (iPhone users) should know by now that the included earbuds can act as a Shutter Remote as well as other headphones with a mic by clicking the "-" or "+" buttons to take a photo. If you use a tripod to take photos, this is nice as it helps when you don't have touch the iPhone to snap your shot.

From my experience, it works well but sometimes the "buds" get in the way if you aren't wearing them.  Since I don't use them as actual headphones, I used a pair from an old iPhone and removed some unnecessary parts.

I recommend taping the exposed areas to protect from the environment. Proceed at you own risk. Or just you can get a wireless remote for approx. $19.
